Terms & Conditions + Repair Policy
Bedford Alloy & Bodyworks
1. Booking & Estimates
All work must be booked in advance unless agreed otherwise.
Any verbal or written estimate is based on visible damage and is subject to change if additional work is identified during repair.
We reserve the right to refuse work if the condition of the wheel/bodywork presents a safety risk or falls outside our repair scope.
2. Customer Delays
If a customer fails to drop off the vehicle or alloys on time, this may delay the completion date. We allocate time and resources based on bookings, and missed drop-offs may result in rescheduling.
Late arrival does not entitle the customer to an expedited turnaround or priority over other scheduled jobs.
3. Turnaround Times
Standard turnaround is 1–5 working days for alloy wheel refurbishment depending on finish type and volume of work.
Bodywork repairs typically take 2–7 working days, but timescales may vary depending on part availability, drying/curing conditions, and complexity.
We do not guarantee exact completion dates unless explicitly stated in writing.
4. Seized Bolts, Wheel Nuts & Valves
If wheel bolts or nuts are seized, over-tightened, or corroded, additional time and tools may be required to remove them safely.
In some cases, wheel bolts may snap or need to be drilled/cut out, which carries a risk of damage and will be charged as an additional cost.
We do not accept liability for pre-existing corrosion, snapped bolts, or broken locking wheel nuts due to poor maintenance or previous fitting.
5. Additional Charges & Repairs
Any extra labour, welding, valve replacements, tyre damage, or realignment required as part of the repair process will be quoted and charged separately.
Tyres that are worn, cracked, or unsafe will not be refitted for safety reasons — customer will be notified and advised accordingly.
Vehicles or wheels left with us in an unsuitable condition (e.g. missing centre caps, tyre issues, structural damage) may be rejected or incur additional charges.
6. Alloy Wheel Repairs – Important Notes
Diamond-cut wheels may not always return to factory finish after repair. We will advise best alternatives if additional lathe passes may cause damage.
In rare cases, yellowing or discolouration may occur due to previous coatings or heat reactions — this is not a sign of poor workmanship and cannot be predicted beforehand.
Crack repairs and welding are undertaken at the customer’s own risk. While we ensure integrity, we cannot guarantee the long-term strength of previously damaged alloys.
Clear coat or lacquer may degrade over time — this is considered wear and tear and not covered by warranty.
7. Bodywork Repairs – Scope
Paint blending is standard practice to match existing colour as closely as possible, but minor variation may occur due to age, condition, or previous repairs.
Panels with underlying rust or filler may not allow long-term adhesion — we will flag any risk areas and cannot be held liable if previously hidden damage reappears.
We do not accept liability for pre-existing damage or issues masked by temporary fixes (e.g. filler, wraps, polish).
8. Collections, Storage & Late Vehicles
Once your vehicle is complete, you will be notified immediately. We require collection within 24 hours unless otherwise agreed.
Vehicles left beyond this time may be subject to storage charges of £20/day.
Vehicles not collected within 7 calendar days may be moved off-site or incur additional handling costs.
9. Warranties & Guarantees
Alloy wheel finishes are covered under a 3-month workmanship warranty unless stated otherwise.
Bodywork repairs are covered under a 6-month defect warranty, excluding accidental damage, misuse, or environmental exposure.
Warranties are void if third-party work is carried out on the same area without our knowledge.
10. Payment Terms
Full payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Vehicles will not be released until full payment has been received.
We accept card, cash, and bank transfer. Invoicing is only available for approved trade customers.
11. Liability Disclaimer
Bedford Alloy & Bodyworks will take every reasonable step to protect your vehicle, but we are not liable for:
Loss or damage from third-party events (e.g. theft, vandalism)
Consequential loss (missed appointments, business loss, etc.)
Paint or alloy discolouration caused by environmental/chemical factors
Mechanical issues resulting from seized bolts or poor previous maintenance
Paint reactions due to previous resprays, non-OEM paint, or silicone contamination
12. Customer Conduct
Abusive, threatening, or aggressive behaviour will result in immediate refusal of service.
Disputes will be reviewed professionally but we reserve the right to record all interactions and take legal steps where necessary.
13. Legal Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
All work undertaken implies acceptance of these terms.
